our office has been abuzz all morning with royal wedding updates: that dress! the kiss! among the many stylish guests, one we couldn’t take our eyes off of was pippa middleton, the bride’s sister and maid of honor.    

as royal wedding excitement is reaching a fevered pitch, we thought we’d remark on another reason, aside from the lovely kate and william, why we adore england.

an occupational hazard of working at a fashion company is living with an entirely overstuffed closet. of course, the obvious solution to this problem would be to curtail our shopping but, with temptation all around, that’s not an option we’ll entertain. so, last week we held an office frock swap to exchange our gently used treasures.    

vinka carapic is one of the artisans in our women for women international (wfwi) hand in hand program in bosnia. before the war in bosnia and herzegovina, she earned a teaching degree and worked as a clerk at the pension and disability insurance office. she has two grown sons and a husband who is an excavator operator. we spoke to vinka about how her life was affected by the war and her experience as a participant in our hand in hand program.
